Cartoon Drawing - $161

Learning to draw can be fun, especially when we create silly characters, funny expressions and drawing sequences that tell a joke! This delightful program combines Young Rembrandts’ innovative, step-by-step drawing method with light-hearted subject matter that engages children, their sense of humor and their vivid imaginations.

Day/Time: Thursdays 3:30 – 4:30

Dates: 1/18 – 3/15 (9 classes)


Chess - $116

Chess is fun and can be learned quickly and easily! Studies have found that chess helps improve test results in reading, science and math, and produces growth in critical cognitive skills. Beyond academia, chess influences social behavior including self esteem, respect for others, patience and good sportsmanship. And did we mention: it’s FUN!

*Both classes are mixed level.

Children's Yoga & Mindfulness - $130

Join us as we explore, create, move and relax! Children's Yoga introduces the yoga practice in a safe and playful way. It incorporates elements of mindfulness with stretching, balancing, and moving in fun, challenging, and interactive ways. For more information about Atma Yoga Studio at

Drama & Storytelling - $ 175

The focus of the winter session will be the production of a fun and lively version of “THE LITTLE RED HEN," to be presented to friends and families the final week of class. In addition to working on the play, each class will include creative drama, theater games and storytelling.

Doug is the Director of Doug’s Drama, which offers after-school classes in 7 schools in Oakland, Orinda and Moraga, as well as summer programs. Doug is a former elementary school teacher, and is a playwright, theater director and professional storyteller and musician. More details at

Acrobalancing, Tumbling, and Gymnastics - $172

Fitness in Transit will be offering a semester filled with three exciting art forms: acrobalancing, tumbling and gymnastics. Acrobalancing is an art form that combines elements of yoga, circus arts and hand balancing. Our focus will be on safe partner lifts involving a base and a flyer. This class will teach children the basics of being a base and a flyer, and basic poses. In our tumbling segment, we will be working on tumbling passes and inverted work, as well as acrobatic sequences which will develop strength and flexibility, and are loads of fun. During the weeks of our gymnastics exploration, we will be focusing on apparatus and equipment, such as balance beam, bars, wedge mats and much, much more. Our professional instructors will create a safe, fun and exciting environment to help children learn how to develop exciting skills and work together as a team. Come and join the fun! Handwriting and Lettering Arts - $ 190

Students will learn the art of calligraphy ("beautiful handwriting") and be taught simple forms of artistic alphabets. We'll use different tools including old-fashioned dip pens and quills and approach lettering from an artistic perspective of drawing out each letter. Emphasis will be on pride in handmade creations and in the value of the words we create to share with others, as well creating cards and envelopes to share with and uplift friends and family! All materials included plus a fountain pen to keep.

Intro to Coding (2nd-5th
 grade) - $220

Do you love playing video games? Ever wanted to build your own? We’ll teach you to use block-based language to build an exciting top down game where you can uncover hidden items, solve challenging puzzles and battle your way through waves of enemy characters. Along the way, you’ll learn fundamental computer science concepts including loops, conditionals, boolean logic, message passing and variables, using an intuitive and beginner-friendly interface. Student must read at 2nd grade level.
 This course is taught by a team of experienced coders from a variety of backgrounds, and
 is designed for newcomers with little to no previous coding experience. Let the games begin!

*Requires Chromebooks, laptops or desktops with Chrome which will be provided in computer lab.

Introduction to Minecraft Plugins 3rd-5th -$262

Learn to customize Minecraft servers by creating and adding your own Minecraft plugins. Plugins will be coded using JavaScript. Students will use JavaScript to create a complex Minecraft minigame plugin and install it on their server. Each student is required to have a Minecraft account. Students will receive their own Minecraft servers for the class, so they can play with their plugins and show them to their friends.

*Requires laptops or desktop computers with MInecraft installed which will be provided in the computer lab, and each student is required to have a Minecraft account.

If you sign up for both Intro to Coding and Intro to Mincraft the price will be $440 for both.


Science of Pokeman - $ 198

Ever wonder how Magnemite can attach himself to power supplies and metal?  Or how Oddish is able to absorb all the nutrients from the ground? What about how Fearow can soar?  In the Science of Pokemon, kids will learn about some of their favorite Pokemon characters and how their powers work.  Each week in this STEM-based class, students will conduct different experiments related to a specific Pokemon.   What better way to learn than to combine science and Pokemon?

Vocal Performance and Audition Class - $ 200

Ever considered auditioning for a musical or Lamorinda Idol?   Learn how to project your voice and hit the high notes through good vocal technique and how to make a dramatic presence so you can stand out in an audition room. Class will focus on developing the voice, working on stage presence and performance while singing, and building audition skills. Class will include assistance in selecting appropriate repertoire, as well as individualized preparation for the Lamorinda Idol 2018 Audition.

World Engineering with Legos- $ 156

See how the world around us works and looks through the eyes of LEGO®. From animals and energy to construction equipment, race cars and space travel, we'll explore our world by learning about and building some of the engineering marvels that we encounter every day. Each motorized lesson introduces key terminology related to each build as well as reinforces the STEM and CORE concepts. So come build with us! We Learn, We Build, We Play with LEGO® bricks.
