Acrobalancing, Tumbling, and Gymnastics - $136

Fitness in Transit will be offering a semester filled with 3 exciting art forms: acrobalancing, tumbling, and gymnastics. Acrobalancing is an art form that combines elements of yoga, circus arts, and hand balancing. Our focus will be on safe partner lifts involving a base and a flyer. This class will teach children the basics of being a base and a flyer, and basic poses. In our tumbling segment, we will be working on tumbling passes and inverted work, as well as acrobatic sequences which will develop strength, flexibility, and loads of fun. During the weeks of our gymnastics exploration, we will be focusing on apparatus and equipment, such as balance beam, bars, wedge mats, and much, much more. Our professional instructors will create a safe, fun, and exciting environment to help children learn how to develop exciting skills and work together as a team. Come and join the fun! Cartoon Drawing - $144

Learning to draw can be fun, especially when we create silly characters, funny expressions and drawing sequences that tell a joke! This delightful program combines Young Rembrandts’ innovative, step-by-step drawing method with light-hearted subject matter that engages children, their sense of humor, and their vivid imaginations.

Day/Time: Thursdays 3:30 – 4:30

**May 17th class will be held at 1:30 since there is a minimum day for Open House

Chess - $132

Chess is fun and can be learned quickly and easily! Studies have found that chess helps improve test results in reading, science, and math, and produces growth in critical cognitive skills. Beyond academia, chess influences social behavior including self esteem, respect for others, patience, and good sportsmanship. And did we mention: it’s FUN!

*Both classes are mixed level.

Children's Yoga & Mindfulness - $150

Join us as we explore, create, move and relax! Children's Yoga introduces the yoga practice in a safe and playful way. It incorporates elements of mindfulness with stretching, balancing, and moving in fun, challenging, and interactive ways. See more details about Atma Yoga Studio at

Critters 'n Clay  - $105

Enrich your child’s world with a delightful hour of science, sculpting and children’s literature!  We will learn interesting facts about a different animal each week, sculpt it out of clay, and wrap things up with a story about the “critter of the week.” Basic sculpting and glazing techniques will be taught to assist in the creation of 3 critters, which students will glaze at our final class. A new group of animals will be studied each session, so the class is fresh and exciting for continuing students. Students will create some priceless treasures in this class.

Drama & Storytelling - $160

The focus of the Spring session will be the production of a fun and lively version of The 3 Little Pigs, to be presented to families and friends the final class session. Each class will include creative drama, theater games and storytelling. This is fun, low-stress class and great for children who have little or no experience in drama or performing. Doug is the Director of Doug’s Drama, which offers after-school classes in 7 schools in Oakland, Orinda and Moraga, as well as summer programs. Doug is a former elementary school teacher, and is a playwright, theater director and professional storyteller and musician. More details at

Intro to Coding 2nd-5th
 - $290

Do you love playing video games? Ever wanted to build your own? We’ll teach you to use block based language to build an exciting top down game where you can uncover hidden items, solve challenging puzzles, and battle your way through waves of enemy characters. Along the way, you’ll learn fundamental computer science concepts including loops, conditionals, boolean logic, message passing and variables, using an intuitive and beginner-friendly interface. Student must read at 2nd grade level.
This course is taught by a team of experienced coders from a variety of backgrounds, and
designed for newcomers with little to no previous coding experience. Let the games begin! (Requires Chromebooks, laptops, or desktops with Chrome which will be provided in computer lab.)

**Returning students are welcome to continue their learning***

Introduction to Minecraft Plugins (Grades 3-5) -

Learn to customize minecraft servers by creating and adding your own Minecraft plugins. Plugins will be coded using JavaScript. Students will use JavaScript to create a complex minecraft minigame plugin and install it on their server. Each student is required to have a Minecraft account. Students will receive their own minecraft servers for the class, so they can play with their plugins and show them to their friends. (Requires laptops or desktops with MInecraft installed which will be provided in the computer lab, and each student is required to have a Minecraft account.)

**Returning students are welcome to continue their learning***

Lego Engineering: Forces of Nature - $146

This unit is all about the amazing and powerful forces of nature, as students explore the when, where, how and why of all kinds of natural phenomenon. From tsunamis to earthquakes and avalanches to the satellites we use to learn about these forces of nature, students will use LEGO® to build working models to understand these amazing events. These engaging lessons will give students an understanding of the physical forces they experience every day all while reinforcing the S.T.E.M. and CORE concept. So come build with us! We Learn, We Build, We Play with LEGO® bricks.

Lego Robotics with EV3 - $170

Experience the cutting edge of technology with the introduction of LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Robotics. Students will be captivated as they incorporate the newest generation of motors, sensors, and software by programming their commands directly into the intelligent brick. Test their capabilities by moving an object with a robotic claw, building a robot that draws, or creating an electric guitar. Combining the versatility of the LEGO building system with the most advanced technology LEGO has ever developed, unleash the creative powers of the new LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 set to create and command robots that walk, talk, think and do anything you can imagine!

Soccer - $210

After the successful soccer clinics held at Sleepy Hollow Elementary last Spring 2017, soccer coach Stefan Clemens welcomes all Sleepy Hollow students to join the Fall Soccer clinics 2017. This after school soccer class is provided for girls and boys (ages 3-11) to learn the game of soccer, compete in a healthy and fun environment, and get solid exercise to strengthen their bodies and minds. Each player will work on their footwork, balance, coordination, ball mastery (touches on the soccer ball), dribbling moves, passing technique, and shooting technique and power. Along with learning the technical aspect of soccer, all players will compete in competitive situations like 1v1 games, 2v2 games, and 3v3 games. At the end of each session, the players will play freely (from 4v4 up to 8v8) to work together as a team, and utilize the moves and techniques they learned earlier in the session. The most important aspect of this soccer class is to learn the game of soccer, be respectful of others and show good sportsmanship, and have fun! :) 

Day/Time: Mondays, Grades TK-1 from 2:30 - 3:30; Mondays, Grades 2-5 from 3:45 - 4:45

Vocal Performance and Audition Class - $200

Ever considered auditioning for a musical or Lamorinda Idol?   Learn how to project your voice and hit the high notes through good vocal technique and how to make a dramatic presence so you can stand out in an audition room. Class will focus on developing the voice, working on stage presence and performance while singing, and building audition skills. Class will include assistance in selecting appropriate repertoire, as well as individualized preparation for Lamorinda Idol 2018 Audition.
