After School Enrichment

Sleepy Hollow After-School Enrichment Registration 

• Classes have limited spaces and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. 
• You may assume your child is enrolled in the class unless you receive an email stating that the class is full or cancelled. 

• You will be charged for the class on your BASC invoice, but you may prepay with a check at any time. 
• You will receive a full refund if the class is cancelled due to low enrollment. 
• Cancellation policy: Refunds can only be given if you cancel before the first class has begun. The Parents’ Club cannot make partial refunds. 

• Students are expected to afford the same respect for authority to the ASE Instructors as they do our Sleepy Hollow teachers. Should a student’s behavior prove to be disruptive, the instructor has the authority to remove the student and have him/her sent to BASC. In this case, BASC charges will apply. Continued behavioral problems can result in expulsion from the class. Even in this case, refunds will not be issued, unless at the discretion of the vendor.

Chess - $ 112

Chess is fun and can be learned quickly and easily. Studies have found that chess helps improve test results in reading, science, and math, and produces growth in critical cognitive skills. Beyond academia, chess influences social behavior including self esteem, respect for others, patience, and good sportsmanship. And did we mention: it’s FUN!

The Berkeley Chess School is a nonprofit organization offering chess instruction from kindergarten through high school since 1982. We are an affiliate of the US Chess Federation. Over the years our students have won many state championships and several have gone on to become National Masters, FIDE Masters, and International Masters. Calligraphy and Letter Art

Students will be introduced to calligraphy (the art of “beautiful handwriting”) through being taught Cursive as well as simple forms of artistic alphabets. We’ll use different tools including fountain pens, old-fashioned dip pens, brush pens and quills as we approach lettering from an artistic perspective of drawing out each letter. We will also spend some time examining historical texts and re-create our own stunning illuminations with faux gold leaf as well as creating super fun FAIRY MAIL for classmates! Emphasis will be on pride in handmade creations through letter writing and in the value our own words have as well as how we can share them with others. Returning and new students are welcome.

Firecracker Math - $ 190

Firecracker Math classes* offer kids a broad variety of age-appropriate yet challenging math topics and activities and enhances their natural abilities and understanding of mathematics. Theoretical instructions are combined with practical exercises that employ games, hands-on experiments, magic tricks and puzzles to demonstrate mathematical concepts.  A class discussion with everyone participating follows. Each child receives a handout with problems or questions related to the topic at hand. Class time is split between group discussion and individual work and exploration allowing students to progress at their own pace. At our math classes, we aim to show children that math can be incredibly creative, exciting, and fun. We provide all the materials. Learn more at

Glee Club, Myeve Capozzi Vocal Training - $ 170

Born to perform and entertain?  Unlock your inner star and light up the stage in Glee Club!  Glee Club is a performance-based class where students learn fun dance moves and staging while singing their hearts out to their favorite songs.  Students will also have the chance to create their own show stopping choreography, sing solos, and play games.  Glee Club is a fun group of non-competitive, supportive and encouraging friends whose passion is to sing and perform!  Showcase scheduled for the last day of the session.

Lamorinda Mileage Club - $ 160

Lamorinda Mileage Club offers over a period of 8 weeks for boys and girls in the 3rd through 5th grade to participate in an after-school program which helps build their confidence and celebrate all that makes them unique through running and strength building. Our program is meant to inspire an appreciation of fitness and to build healthy habits that lead to a lifetime of healthy choices.  Join us for an hour once a week and start setting a framework for healthy life goals.

LEGO: Gadgets, Gizmos, And Other Interesting Inventions – $ 172

This unit is all about the fun of doing something with what you've built. From a spinning top to a spin art model, from a hand mixer to a conveyor belt, kids will love playing with their LEGO® creations! But don't worry, we sneak in lots of learning too! Like understanding probability in the "3-in-a-row" game model and learning about friction and symmetry with the spinning top. Each lesson reinforces the S.T.E.M. curriculum and encourages students to think of what they could invent or improvements they could make to an existing object to solve a problem. Introduce your student to the world of ideas, creativity, inventions, gadgets and gizmos all while learning with LEGO®.

The Science of Pokeman – $ 156

Ever wonder how Magnemite can attach himself to power supplies and metal? Or how Oddish is able to absorb all the nutrients from the ground? What about how Fearow and how he can soar? In the Science of Pokemon, kids will learn about some of their favorite Pokemon characters and how their powers work. Each week in this STEM based class, students will conduct different experiments related to specific Pokémon characters. What better way to learn than to combine science and Pokemon? Lots of great take home projects.

Day/Time: Mondays 2:30 - 3:45 (75 minutes) for grades 2 to 5

Skyhawks After-School Sports Medley (Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Track & Field) - $ 163

This multi-sport program combines Baseball, Basketball, Soccer and Track & Field into one fun-filled program.  Through interactive drills and skill-based games, participants gain the skills, confidence, and passion to take the next step in their athletic development. Skyhawks staff provide a safe and positive environment where young athletes can learn the essential skills, rules, and strategies, of each sport.  Your child will leave with new skills, new friends, and a new love for sports!  All participants receive a Skyhawks T-Shirt and Award Medal.

Soccer- $ 150

Cal men's soccer assistant coach Stefan Clemens welcomes all Sleepy Hollow students to join the Fall Soccer clinics 2019. This after school soccer class is provided for girls and boys TK - 3rd grade (ages 3-9) at any level. Each player will work on their footwork, balance, coordination, ball mastery (touches on the soccer ball), dribbling moves, passing technique, and shooting technique and power. Along with learning the technical aspects of soccer, all players will compete in competitive situations like 1v1 games, 2v2 games, and 3v3 games. At the end of each session, the players will play freely (from 4v4 up to 8v8) to work together as a team, and utilize the moves and techniques they learned earlier in the session. Competing in a safe environment is important for each players development both on and off the field. This soccer class is designed for players learn the game of soccer, get solid exercise, understand and implement good sportsmanship, and most of all, have fun!

YoGo4Kids - Yoga for the Body, Mind & Heart - $ 145

YoGo4Kids is an active, age-appropriate yoga class where children increase body awareness, build confidence and cultivate a heart full of gratitude & joy. Thematic classes include breath-work, individual & partner poses, non-competitive games and a time for relaxation. Yoga mats are provided.
